Everyone is asking about the small yellow house at Viera Regional Park.How many of you saw the United States beat Haiti 9-0 in the Under-17 girls' soccer championships in March in Costa Rica, and after the game watched U.S. goalkeeper Bryane Heaberlin hug her disconsolate opposite number, Alexandra Coby? If you would like to help, Mercedes has specially designed and engineered the 11-by-24-foot wood cottages for reconstruction in Haiti, and each will cost $8,000 to
$10,000 to build and ship to the battered nation. A prototype home has
been set up at Viera Regional Park, for all of us to see.
“If we can get $1 through $10 from every family that registers, we
will have a good start,” Haig said.

SCUSC Summer Camp
Space Coast wil be hosting two Summer Camps this year : July 19 - 23 @ Wickham Soccer Fieldsand July 26 - July 30 @ Viera Soccer Fields.
It will be a great week and is open to all ages from 4 - 18.

The girls won their first round game of Region 3, 2-1 defeating the Tennessee state champions! In the second game the girls lost 1-0 to Georgia Soccer Academy, on a day that was said to reach 100 degrees on the fields.
Jacoby's U-12 Girls win DC Cup!!
The Space Coast Storm recreational team (272) recently won the U-12 girls DC Cup tournament at Mitchell Ellington Park on Merritt Island. The Storm dropped its opener, 4-1, against Palm Bay on Saturday, but rebounded to defeat Indialantic, 5-2, that same afternoon.On Sunday, Space Coast blanked Port St. John, 4-0, in the morning to earn a trip to the championship game and a rematch against Palm Bay that afternoon. This time, the Storm rode superior team defense and a timely second-half goal from Emily Carney to a 1-0 victory and the tournament title.
Team members include: Sydney Alliance, Mary Billhartz, Vicki Buecker, Emily Carney, Ali Hackett, Sara Hrkach, Emily Jacoby, Janey Johnson, Maggie Johnson, Meghan Murphy, Rachael Pearce, Taylor Shuy, and Summer Van Orman. The team, coached by Steve Jacoby and Paul Johnson, finished the spring season with a record of 8-1-2.

Gatorade Florida Girls Soccer Player of the Year. The award recognizes not only outstanding athletic excellence, but also high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character demonstrated on and off the field. For more details..
This also puts Katie in as a finalist for National Player of the Year, wish her congratulations and good luck.
Coach McCabe Awarded Coach of the Year
Coach Jerry McCabe has been named the 2010 Florida Dairy Farmers Boys' Soccer Coach-of-the-Year.McCabe is the 18th winner of the annual award, sponsored by Florida Dairy Farmers, Inc. and the Florida Athletic Coaches Association.
Coach McCabe is the first three-time winner of the award, after also winning the honor in 1994 and 2009.
The Florida Dairy Farmers Sports Awards program exemplifies Dairy Farmers, Inc.'s commitment to the state's youth. While honoring the state's top athletes and coaches in all 27 FHSSA-sanctioned sports for the 18th consecutive year.
Three Teams Advance to State Cup Final

U13 Boys coached by John Duguid advanced to the State cup Final Four with a 2-1 win
over Boca United and a 1-0 overtime victory Sunday against Kendall.U15 Girls coached by Fidgi Haig advanced to the State Cup Final Four with a 6-0 victory over Plantation and a 3-1 win over Ocala.
U18 Boys coached by Richard Chisolm advanced to the State Cup Final Four with a 4-1 win over Maitland and a 3-1 win against Florida Rush.
U13 Girls coached by Carrie Terrill beat Lehigh 3-2 Saturday, but saw their tournament run end with a 2-1 loss to Florida Soccer Alliance Sunday.
U14 Boys coached by Jerry McCabe were eliminated in a tight 1-0 game to Strictly Soccer FC on Saturday.
U15 Boys coached by Scott Armstrong also were eliminated by a 1-0 score Saturday against Jacksonville.
Congratulations to all of our State Cup teams who competed this weekend, and best of luck to our three teams in the Final Four on May 22/23 in Auburndale.
Coach Chisolm Earns USSF Goalkeeping
Coach License
Our Goalkeeper Coach Richard Chisolm recently received
confirmation that he has earned the prestigious USSF Goalkeeping Coach
License, after attending the 8 day course at the Home Depot Center in
Carson, CA in late January. This license certifies him to coach
goalkeepers professionally anywhere in the world, and is the only
professional license of its kind in the United States. Fewer than
100 licenses have been awarded since the program's inception in 2004.
