(current Board Member up for re-election)
Thank you for considering me for reelection as a board member for Space Coast United Soccer. I have been with the club for the last seven years and since that time I have been involved in many aspects of our club including the recreational program, master scheduler, and competitive team coach. I work professionally for the Florida Department of Corrections as a Probation Specialist and coach on the girl’s side. I have been coaching youth sports for 15 years, being involved in basketball, soccer, and baseball. I am part of the grievance committee and regularly attend meetings. I have a Master’s degree in Sports Coaching from the University of Northern Colorado and a Bachelor’s in Administration from Barry University.
Thank you for your consideration.
My name is Kelli McGuire and I am applying to be on the board to be a voice for the players of the club and represent the junior division. I have been a part of this club for 7 years. I have a son that plays in the competitive program, a husband that coaches, and a daughter who plays in the recreation program. Because of this, I feel I would be able to give meaningful and insightful information about the club as a board member from these perspectives. I have volunteered as a team manager for 3 years and recently took on the role of the goalkeeping team manager this year. I have been a volunteer coach in the rec program in the past and I have assisted behind the scenes with tryouts, registration, and tournaments.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Parks, Recreation and Tourism with a minor in Gerontology, and I am a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. I currently work as a business development specialist for a local hospice company. My role is to foster relationships with many different providers and find out what matters most to them and implement how to work together as community partners for what is best for the patients we serve. I have over 18 years of experience in participating in care plan meetings with patients and families, interdisciplinary team meetings with team members, and working with community partners where the goal is to come together to make a decision on what is best for the patient. I hope to utilize this experience to assist the club in making decisions based on what is best for the players of the club.
We learn best by talking to others and gaining perspective. The easiest path is not always the best path and you have to be willing to ask questions. I will ask questions and I will listen to answers. I will come to the table with concerns and questions, but it will follow with solutions. I will admit when I am wrong and apologize for misunderstandings. Above all I am fair, honest and kind. I know that the players are the heart of the club and I would be honored to assist to represent them as a board member for the next three years.
My name is Kara Ehrhardt and I would like to be considered for a position as a member of the Space Coast United Board.
I am a Registered Nurse and Brevard County native. My soccer passion began with Space Coast United when I was 11 years old and started playing soccer. It has been a great privilege to share this experience with my children Payton & Brahden who both played/play respectively for Space Coast since their early childhood. I was able to continue my involvement as a team manager for both since 2015.
One of my proudest moments was seeing my daughter receive a full scholarship to play Division 1 college soccer. This club has brought a great sense of community and team spirit to our lives and has helped me teach my children the importance of being part of something bigger than themselves as well as sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, patience, discipline and being responsible members of society.
During my 7 years as a team manager for Space Coast, I have demonstrated effective coordination, collaboration and communication on behalf of the team. I warmly embrace all who come to play and be a part of our team/club. It brings me great joy to see families of all backgrounds come together to participate in community and competitive soccer games.
I cannot think of a greater honor and privilege than to continue my involvement as a board member. It has been a personal goal of mine to use my many years of experience with Space Coast to help continue the Club’s legacy in our community for years to come
Thank you for your consideration.
I was raised in Indialantic where I currently reside with my husband of 13 years and 2 boys Ethan (12, Space Coast U13 ECNL team) Greyson (9). I have been teaching for 16 years and currently teach for Florida Virtual School. We have been part of the Space Coast Soccer family for 3 years. Coming from other soccer clubs I feel strongly about what Space Coast Soccer Club stands for and represents. Having served on Indialantic Elementary’s PTO as President, Vice-President and current Treasurer for the last 6 years I have an idea of what it takes to sit on a board and as a member I pride myself on upholding what is best for the players of Space Coast United Soccer. I strongly believe in communication between board members/directors and parents to ensure our players get the best experience possible from Space Coast United Soccer.
Hello, my name is Todd Olsen and I am running for a position on the SCUSC board of directors. I grew up in Brevard county playing youth soccer for Space Coast United Soccer Club from 1995-2000 when we were originally titled “Surge”. I graduated from Satellite High School in 2002 after playing Varsity Soccer and making it to District Finals. I attended the University of Central Florida where I was a founding member of The UCF Club Soccer team (Non-scholarship club) where we traveled across the state playing FSU, FIU, USF, UF’s club soccer teams. After attending UCF I worked at the Walt Disney Company as a Lake Patrol Coordinator for 7 years. It was there where I found my passion for helping people.
For the past 10 years, I have worked for the City of Melbourne Fire Department and am currently a Driver-Engineer-Paramedic and acting Lieutenant at Station 71. While working at Melbourne Fire Department I have received many unit citation and accolades that include FireFighter of the Quarter, Firefighter of the Year-2022. I am currently the Honor Guard Commander for our department where we have attended many parades, funerals, and have won awards for our Honor Guard uniforms. I will be completing my Bachelor of Science in Fire Administration in 2023. Additionally, I serve as the treasurer of The Melbourne Professional Firefighter Benevolent Board of Directors. We have hosted a 9/11 5K run at Wickham Park, completed a gun raffle for a firefighter’s wife with cancer, and are hosting a golf tournament this year in the city of Melbourne. As a leader within my organization, I promote accountability, integrity, and respect and look to embody these characteristics in my everyday life, whether professionally or personally. I believe in being authentic and taking ownership, empowerment, and fostering open communication and collaboration.
I have been involved with coaching my 2 young sons at SCUSC since 2019. Currently, I have one son in the All-Star program and my youngest is playing U6. I am excited for the future of SCUSC and am looking to invest my time to a quality product on and off the field. Our children need a positive, competitive and inclusive environment to be successful in life.
As mentioned earlier, I have a passion for coaching youth soccer. I would like to take this passion into being an advocate for these players at a higher level and feel I have the right attributes to represent the club with the highest integrity and focus to drive growth and success.
Sharnia Kellman France
My name is Sharnia Kellman France, I’ve never served on a board before but I know management. I’ve been in a management and customer service roll for about 20 years now. I am currently in the nursing field working for Advent Health.
What I do know is soccer! I come from a long family line of soccer players, I myself played for four years in high school. I know how to organize functions, tournaments, etc. My son has played soccer from age 6 to the present (he is on the U17 second team) and has been refereeing for 1 year now. I’ve never missed a game so I’m always at a soccer field, whether it’s as a mom of a player or mom of a referee, and at times calling him out for not making a call.
I assure you that by voting for me to serve on the board I will give it my 120% to put the players and their families first in everything.
Hello, my name is Kristen Manning. I’m a proud Florida native, born in Fort Myers. My family went through many transitions moving around but ended up in Rockledge. I went to Andersen and Kennedy before moving to Melbourne where I attended Johnson and graduated from Eau Gallie High School.
I attended EFSC where I graduated with a degree in Cosmetology then worked as a hair stylist at Essentials MediSpa and Salon for several years. While there I assumed the responsibility of managing inventory in the hair salon and placing orders as needed. I absolutely loved my job and felt so fulfilled by making people feel good about themselves but my babies were priority and they needed me so I became a stay-at-home momma.
I am a proud fire wife of 10 years! My husband is a firefighter and holds several other roles within the fire service. We are a blended family with four boys and a bunch of furry critters who keep us busy. We live in Viera and spend most evenings at the soccer field. All four of our boys have played with Space Coast at some point growing up. Our oldest is now getting his degree in theater management, our high schooler still plays rec, our 10-year-old played half a season of comp and the little guy just finished his first comp season as a keeper.
Aside from chauffeuring the boys around, I am a market partner with Monat. For 4.5 years I’ve been able to help people improve their hair and skin goals through naturally based products. This unexpectedly developed into leading a team of women who wanted something more, and I loved helping them meet their goals. It’s been a life-changing opportunity and I am better because of shampoo. In addition, I am currently training with Life Recaptured to volunteer as an advocate working with survivors of sex trafficking. This is very near and dear to my heart and I believe God has led me to this exact place.
I would love to serve the members of the club because as a sideline mom I want to see our players and coaches succeed while our children thrive in a positive environment. As a former team leader within my personal Monat business, promoting accountability and respect. My heart for helping people while keeping a positive mindset despite difficult obstacles, combined with my ability to communicate with and have empathy for others would be an asset to SCU. If we listen to each other and work together as a team, we can accomplish great things within our growing community of soccer families to ensure the growth and success of our coaches and players.
Thank you for your consideration.
I would like to be considered as a candidate for the Board of Directors of Space Coast United Soccer Club. I believe It is extremely important to help build the principles of governance for the league, having the responsibility of promoting the health and well-being of our growing athletes, volunteers, and staff, both from a social impact as well as an educational learning curriculum, be it through recreational or competitive.
For the club, I would like to participate as an advisory voice to help guide the strategic decisions to solidify and continue to grow SCUSC, from membership participation as well as support the club to be in a position of strong financial, economic, and building the community partnership for the future.
To provide some perspective on my background, I have held previous positions on the Board of Directors for the Hernando County Education Foundation, a non-profit to help advance student achievements as well as promote excellence with the county's Public Education system.
I have also participated within SCUSC as a volunteer Coach and mentor, as again it is so critically important to provide support and mentorship to the players and staff, as well as the parents in the form of trust in the Club, and I currently have an active son who will be continuing in the program from rec, U10 Comp, and now under the U11 Competitive White team into next season.
In my current role with Embraer Executive Jets, my responsibilities include overseeing the company’s Business Aircraft deliveries and Contracts as Senior Manager, including annual revenue exceeding 1.5 billion. My expertise in leadership spans over two decades, including corporate governance, strategic planning, communications, and asset management, including representing Embraer with the Brevard County Economic Development Commission.
Thank you again for your consideration and I look forward to continuing in SCUSC as an active parent, from volunteering to provide a canopy to the team to being a voice to help support the Clubs present and future endeavors.
I have spent much of my life involved with soccer in some fashion. Whether it’s playing, helping coach, referee, watching games, and now taking my own children to their first soccer program, it has always been there. This sport means so much to so many people and there are new generations of children and adults alike joining the game every season. I remember the feeling of stepping onto the field with my team every game, and each time it would fill me with joy. The opportunity to be engaged in something you love and are passionate about every day, every week, every month, whatever the frequency, would be remarkable.
As a young player, I had the opportunity to play for several clubs including my high school alma mater. Each time was such a profound experience, and that experience was created by those that were involved with managing the club. It takes a village to maintain the operations of a club and I believe I have the passion to help do so. I want to be a part of an organization that helps shape the exhilarating experience of playing the game to as many people as possible.
I aim to support the staff, coaches, parents, and players to foster the best learning experience. I intend to ensure that this club achieves its mission of providing quality soccer instruction to the community in the best environment possible. I will give the members of this club my full support to ensure the success and good nature of the program.
I was born and raised in Satellite Beach and graduated from the University of North Florida with a BS in Nutrition and Dietetics. I am married to my wife, Dana and have two young daughters, Savannah and Madeleine.
As a Clinical Dietitian with Healthcare Services Group contracted to work with multiple long-term care facilities in Brevard County, I am responsible for assessing and managing the nutritional well-being of over 350 patients in some of Brevard County's long-term care facilities. I also bring several years of management skills from managing operations for a local hospital nutrition department including budget/labor targets while upholding the highest standard of patient satisfaction.
I am Tadashi Mabee, a proud father of two boys who have been Space Coast United players since we moved to Viera in 2017. I am motivated to serve on the SCUSC Board of Directors simply because I want to do my part in keeping this fabulous organization as a treasure in this community in which we live.
Having lived in several places across the country, I can attest to how amazing and rare an asset like Space Coast United is. To have such a diverse set of teams, levels, training camps, and well-structured, professionally-organized programs, is a true blessing that most other communities can only wish for.
In my day job, I am a marketing manager for an aerospace/defense company, with my educational background being in engineering. I have proven management experience, including responsibilities over organizations, budgets and financial decisions. I also have Board of Directors experience in my ongoing role on my neighborhood’s HOA Board. I look forward to using these skills for the benefit of our club as needed.
A solid SCUSC helps strengthen our great community and empowers our kids to be active, be challenged, and be happy. That is the ultimate measure of how successful our club is.
