U14 Girls Premier are Disney Memorial Day Shootout Champs
Our U14 Girls Premier team took the Championship at the Disney Memorial Day Shootout!
After beating Brandon F C Flames Yellow 4-2, Doral Milan 1-0, and tying Central Pasco United 1-1, the Premier Storm team faced Region "C" Champions and Presidents Cup Finalist FC Sarasota in the final, and winning by a close 1-0 score. Danielle Shorten scored the lone goal coming out of center midfield midway during the 2nd half. She was tackled and brought to the ground by the FC Sarasota Keeper while shooting and the ball just crossed the goal line! Many thanks to Richard Chisolm being with the team during the game and offering great tactical advice to coaches and players!
After losing the Region "B" final the Storm players vowed not to lose another game for the rest of the season. Holding true with 11 wins and 3 draws including a BYSL Championship and a Disney Memorial Day Shootout Championship. The team has made the Finals in 5 out of 6 tournaments and Cup playoffs during this seasonal year! Next up for the girls as they move up into U15 will be some very competitive tryouts and a shot at State Cup for the next seasonal year.
