Coach/Team Philosophy:
To develop players in a challenging, fun, and engaging environment. While winning is important, it must be balanced with long-term player development. Challenging practices during the week allow the kids to enjoy game day with confidence.
The basic skills are the foundation of long-term player development. This includes
dribbling and controlling the ball, short passes in a small space, and possession. We will work on trapping, defending correctly for the situation, and movement on field away from ball. Training sessions will also incorporate conditioning as that is rather important.
We will work on team possession play, not individual holding and dribbling of ball.
Other information:
Looking for players who are committed to soccer all year round, who understand teamwork, and who are passionate about the sport.
We will practice three nights a week and good attendance is mandatory.
League Play:
Fall: GCF U12 First Division.
Spring: BYSL U13 Second Division
Tournaments: 5 possible for Elite team (normally 2-3 game weekends)
August : Brevard Hurricane Classic
October : Tampa United Adidas Columbus Day Classic
November : Disney Junior Soccer Showcase
February : Region B Cup
May : Palm Bay Spring Challenge (11v11)
