Coach/Team Philosophy:
The objective is to create an environment to foster continued growth and passion in the game.
We will continue to stress individual technical player development but will further emphasize larger group and team tactics. Players will be moved between different roles on the field, including goalkeeper in an effort to further stimulate their own development as well as their appreciation of the different functions of all positions within the game.
This is the age in which the players are playing 8v8 and they will be challenged to “spread” the field offensively while “squeezing” the field defensively. We attack together and we defend together
Other information:
The commitment to this team is one “soccer-calendar” year, which spans from June 6, 2011 – July 31, 2012. The fall season training will commence in mid July and run through November up until Thanksgiving.
December and the first part of January will be used for recovery. There is some necessary time-off!
We will resume training in mid-January and prepare for BYSL League play. We will compete throughout BYSL spring season.
League Play: Brevard Youth Soccer League (A group, if available)
Fall Schedule – August-Nov, 5 games at Viera Regional Park, 5 games across county
Spring Schedule – February-May, 4 games at Viera Regional Park, 4 games across county
Tournaments: (normally 2-3 game weekends)
We will plan to play in 2 local tournaments during the Fall season TBD.
